NZIOB Southern Region invite you to come explore the reinstatement of the Christ Church Cathedral. The Cathedral is now entering the first phase of physical works, which include substantial enabling and temporary protection works, clearing out of contamination and livestock and providing long term shoring of the existing building.
Stage two will then involve base isolation, structural strengthening and repairs/reconstruction of the existing main cathedral building. The first stage of the works is expected to take 2-years to complete with an overall target construction duration of 7-10- years.
The site visit will be followed by drinks and nibbles at the Novotel down the road (whilst NZIOB Members host their prompt AGM), and conclude with a presentation on the reinstatement of the Cathedral from Project Director, Keith Paterson of Christ Church Cathedral Reinstatement Limited (CCRL).
