NZIOB Webinar: Getting site-ready for COVID-19 level 3

An overview of the newly developed construction Standard and Protocols by CHASNZ Chief Executive, Chris Alderson; and practical examples from both the perspective of the main contractor and the client project manager, of how to work on a construction site under the new framework; as practiced over the lockdown period on essential services projects in Christchurch.

Description

The government has announced the date at which New Zealand moves from COVID-19 level 4, to level 3, being Tuesday 27th of April (the day after ANZAC Day).

At level 3, construction sites can reopen, subject to observing the Construction Standard and Protocols that were released late last week by Construction Health and Safety New Zealand (CHASNZ). Thanks to the collaborative work that the Standard and Protocols represent, construction has the framework in place to allow building work to restart safely and quickly.

In preparation of re-opening construction sites next Tuesday, all companies will need to develop site and business plans that adhere to the following Construction Protocols and Standards. To assist, the NZIOB is running a webinar that has two components:

  • An overview of the newly developed construction Standard and Protocols by CHASNZ Chief Executive, Chris Alderson; and
  • Practical examples from both the perspective of the main contractor and the client project manager, of how to work on a construction site under the new framework; as practiced over the lockdown period on essential services projects in Christchurch.

Presenters:

  • Chris Alderson, CEO CHASNZ
  • Mike Jeffery, Senior Associate, RCP Christchurch
  • Tom Pyatt, Project Manager, Naylor Love Canterbury
